Marine Biology of the Mediterranean takes full advantage of the spectacular location, and will include snorkeling and collections of local plants and animals.  The class is designed for the beginning student of marine biology and ecology, and for non-science majors interested in learning about the ocean in the class and the field.

The Purchase College Italian Studies Summer Program is based in Pisciotta, a small, picturesque town on the coast about 90 miles south of Naples, Italy.  In addition to Marine Biology of the Mediterranean, students also pursue the intensive study of the Italian language and culture.  During the course, students have the opportunity to participate in other trips (e.g., Pompeii, Velia, Naples), and the program finishes with three days in Rome.
